Good Evening - Just a quick update on today's occurrences at DIS and DUES. After receiving a threatening phone call perceived as a prank at the DIS Office, both DIS and DUES were placed in secure mode, where no students were allowed in or out of the building unattended. CCSD #1 takes all calls and threats seriously to keep our campuses safe. This continued until local law enforcement investigated the call. At this point, it was determined that a controlled release was necessary in order to keep all students, families, and staff safe until further information was obtained about the call. Law enforcement will continue to investigate; however, at this time DIS and DUES are not in immediate danger. On Thursday, April 30th, the day will consist of a normal beginning of the day routine.
A message was sent via Thrillshare and the Converse County School District #1 app. If you did not receive this message or need help setting up your app, please call either school at 358-0025 or 358-3502.
A special thank you to our parents for their patience and understanding regarding the delayed release of students, to local law enforcement for their immediate support, and to the amazing staff for keeping our students safe.

Estimados padres y tutores,

Atentamente,

Jeff Cudney

We're absolutely loving this beautiful Wyoming winter! ☀️ While we're enjoying the sunshine and mild temps, we know Mother Nature can surprise us. Just a friendly reminder that all our inclement weather information—closures, delays, and updates—lives right here: https://www.ccsd1.org/page/inclement-weather-information. 🌨️ Here's hoping we don't need it, but we're ready if we do!

Power has been restored and school is in session today, November 14, 2025.

We have school today.

4:18 PM: We will continue to monitor the power outage situation throughout the night. Information regarding the school day on Friday, November 14, 2025, will be announced no later than 5:00 am. If power IS restored and stable, we will have a normal early-out school day.  If power IS NOT restored and stable, school and activities will be cancelled. Thank you for your partnership and patience.  The CCSD#1 website and app will have the most up-to-date information.

2:01 PM: All schools are currently without power, and phone service is intermittent. We expect power to fluctuate until school releases at its normal time.

Converse County School District is currently affected by the widespread electrical outage affecting Rocky Mountain Power customers.  The current state of our schools is as follows:

  • High School: normal operations

  • Middle School: limited power, phones are not working

  • Upper Elementary: limited power, phones are working

  • Intermediate School: limited power, phones are not working

  • Primary School: normal operations

  • Central: normal operations

  • White: no power, phones are working

  • Shawnee: normal operations

  • Dry Creek: normal operations

  • Moss Agate: no power, phones are working

If you need to get a message to any school without working phones, please call 307-358-2942 instead. This will connect you to our main office at Central Administration, and we will relay the information.

Due to power surges, we may need to shut down power to the schools to protect equipment. At this time, school will dismiss as usual. We will provide updates as the situation changes.
